Ernie,
Your paper might have become too distorted for dry mounting. While a
certain amount of expansion in the edges of the paper can be accommodated
there is a limit. Consider whether your wash times can be shortened, less
time in the water lessens the malleability of the paper.
After that, if the paper is not sticking down then you either need to
increase the temperature, time or pressure. Make sure that you leave enough
time for the platten to come to working temperature, if you start too soon
then the heat may well not be even across the whole platten and the edges
could be cool compared to a hot centre.
Another thought is the relative humidities of both the print and the
mounting board. These are often better for being dried in the press before
mounting the two together, especially the board which can hold more
moisture, too much residual moisture and the shellac won't stick to it.
Tacking irons are merely for ensuring the print ends up in the right place
on the mount, a small tack won't hold a large print 'going somewhere', but
I'd never work without one.

best wishes,
Jem

I have started to come under the spell of FB printing. I have a dry
mounting press and have some ?'s for the group. The FB prints that I have
so far mounted have some waviness and when I dry mount I am getting creases
on the sides where the print did not evenly adhere to the board. I have
tried mounting piece meal - starting at one corner and working the mounting
process towards the diagonal corner - have tried using a supplemental
tacking iron but this hasn't helped. Any thoughts from the group.
