I've also found that developer dilution (I use Edwal Ultra Black 
myself ) can go a ways toward taming Panalure's contrast as can 
the developing procedure. I have at times retrained the contrast by 
putting the paper in the developer until the image starts to emerge, 
then let the development finish in a tray of water.
