There was an article in the Dutch 'Camera Magazine' they had an intervieuw 
with a Leica guy at Solms
(I don't remenber his name) who said there would be a M6AE in the middle of 
2000.
With Leica technologie not Voigtlander.

One more brief thought in re the Konica Hexar RF (thanks to R.G.):

The Konica shutter, motor, and electronics would certainly fit in a
standard M6 body shell with a Leica-made rf/vf. Think about that. A
Leica-made M6 AE.

Pure speculation....
