It has not been happening to me, and generally it's a feature of spam that
everybody on a list who has not blocked their address gets it. I hate Junk
Mail and I will only post to closed mailing lists like this rather than
newsgroups on Usenet which are regularly trawled by organisations selling
addresses to spammers.

I have never personally had a junk mail problem with either the LUG or
other lists of the same type, though I have been on lists which were spammed
by junk-mailers who subscribed and got in that way. Needless to say they
were removed at once, so it was a one-off.

Thankfully it seems it's too much trouble for the spammers to bother with a
closed list like this one.

I think you need to look elsewhere- sure you have not posted to a Usenet
list using that account? It's the most likely reason. I know that any time
I'm daft enough to respond to comment on any of the Usenet groups that I
keep an eye on, I'm sure to pay for it in junk mail!

If the problem persists and you remain convinced it is as a result of
contributing here, I suggest you let us know more details of the spam you're
getting, so other LUGgers can compare notes.

Best

Rod
