The Leica would be lighter but you would want the 21mm for many of the beautiful beach scenics and other landscapes. The zoom however would make the grab shots easier. When I was there last I was used an SLR with 28-85mm lens, which never came off my camera. The Canon setup would allow you to shoot some neat tele shots off your balcony or off the beach using the 70-200mm lens. Things like windsurfers, boats, surfers, etc. Besides, IMHO the EOS-1N metering system better in certain situations. It will be either an M6 with 35mm and 50mm lens or a Canon EOS1n with a 28-70 and 70-200 lens. I really don't want to be overloaded and burdened by heavy equipment, but on the other hand I want to make sure that I have enough coverage for more situations.
