I am not French either, and I don't even live in France, but I have visited often enough and looked at enough issues of Chausseur d'Images or RĂ©ponses Photo to know that prices of Leica gear in France are much higher than in Belgium, the Netherlands or (especially) Germany. So if you are after something new, I would definitely check the German places like Foto Hobby first. I recently bought a new R8 at Foto Lambertin in Cologne for 2.997 DM (=1.537 EUR), a price well below even the new discounted prices in Belgium. Having said this, I also recently visited La Maison du Leica in Paris (Blvd. Beaumarchais, near Place Bastille). It is a true Mecca of second-hand Leica stuff, and some of the prices looked quite reasonable. So if you are after a used Leica and live near Paris, it may be worth it to pay a visit there.
