I asked the local Russian camera guy about it. he told me of his difficulty of finding them for resale, because many of them back in Russia had a similar problem. He also told me the Kiev 5 was always an uncommon camera. "Classic Camera" (a well done, expensive quarterly camera magazine) recently did a feature on Kiev 35's, and didn't even list the 5 !! My own Kiev 5 is presently having the straps replaced.
