I'm not an "Ansel Adams" type photographer, more of a "zone focus and point and shoot" with a ball-park scientific wild-assed guess at things like exposure, development, and printing times. However, I feel that I would like to learn properly about the technical aspects of photography. Not that I necessarily intend to adhere to them at all times, but I'm the kind of person who likes to know what rules I'm breaking when. So, can anyone recommend a good book on these subjects? A single volume, please, I don't want to buy the four book AA series at $25 a pop. Also, I understand something about film exposure and development, but paper and enlargement is still a big mystery to me.
