With my father's Leica IIIf kit, I had a full Visoflex setup. Dual cable release, bellows, short mount Hektor 135mm lens, two viewfinders, ring light flash unit. It was beautifully designed and worked well. He was an Oral Surgeon. We used to do case studies on the jaw reconstruction work he was doing, and we also used to use it to document the coin and stamp collections that he and my grandfather had. As soon as I had a Nikon F and a 100mm macro lens, the Visoflex setup was put in its case and forgotten. It was so much easier to work with an SLR and a macro lens, in every way, that it was no longer sensible to think about the Visoflex. The quality was better, there was less wasted film, and it set up in an instant. Macro and long lens work has since that point been the province of an SLR camera for me. Godfrey
