All products that you buy have warranty cost built into the price in some way. Wouldn't it be nice for Leica to offer a palate of warranty options to their customers, much like retailors do. For customers who don't give a damn about warranty, go for a 30 day "good luck Sammy" that drops 200 or so off the price of a body. From there they could move up through 2-3 and 5 year add on warranties, along with added benefits. (for more money of course) Ahh, but the only problem is what to pay the retailer to actually make them WANT to sell that warranty....Or the CAMERA for that matter! Another issue is the difference in expectations between American customers and folks from "abroad". We are picky as hell, and really actually have some of the worlds lowest tolerances for product failures...Probably unreasonably at times. That's why I'll just bet your new car is not a Fiat or Renault! Best Wishes Dan > >It's a rip-off. It's like purchasing the "Collision >Damage Waver" when you rent a car. The "Passport >warranty" just represents EXTRA PROFIT for Leica. >Nothing more...nothing less. At least you have the >option of declining the "Collision Damage Waver". > >Regards, > >Bill > > > > > > >__________________________________________________ >Do You Yahoo!? >Talk to your friends online with Yahoo!
