I played with Kai's Photo Soap for a while. Available for both Mac and 
Windoze. Some interesting tools, some nice details, but I HATED the user 
interface. It's cute and silly to the point of obnoxiousness. 

I've tried Live Picture on the Mac also. Very powerful but very hard to 
learn. Don't know if they're still around.

PhotoShop does it for me. It works the way I want to, and I've found it 
easy to learn.
