Re: [Leica] Identification of a 35mm SummicronI have no quarrel with =
Leica items made in Canada. My quandary is that the front markings do =
not conform with either of those described by Stephen Gandy as the *most =
recent* pre-ASPH. But the box does show that it is item 11310, if that =
helps in the differentiation.

Thanks........Julian

  Julian,
I believe there are 4 pre-ASPH versions and the 3rd version is =
Canadian and is just as good as the German manufacture.

Can anyone help me with a difficult identification? There is a 35mm =
non-ASPH Summicron on eBay, which seems to match Stephen Gandy's =
description of the latest non-ASPH, escept for one feature. According =
to Stephen's description, the front should either be inscribed LEITZ =
LENS MADE IN CANADA or LEICA. The one pictured on eBay says LEITZ. =
Could this be another variant of the latest non-ASPH?

    Thanks for any help.........Julian
