hello sander,
i would not say, it is "impossible" to do double exposures with the leica
M... - it is indeed possible - but i admit, that it's a bit tricky...

just some weeks before, i have made some succesfull double-exposures with
my M6 - i had to photograph a MC-donalds drive-in at night; and i wanted
to add some lines of moving lights of the traffic to "dramatize" and
improve the szenery. part one of the exposure was the Mc-drive-station, at
about 1/8 second with f8 on a tripod; than i moved the camera to the road
close to the MC-stations and banned the moving lights of cars whit 1 sec,
1/2 sec and 2 sec on film;

about the double-exposure technique: after the first exp., i gave a little
bit of tension to film with the film-rewind-crank, switched the
rewind-button (front of cam) and cocked the shutter - ready for exposure
nr. 2.

i've made 15 (double)-exposures, for trying different effects; there where
4 exposures, where the first and the second exposure did'nt match well
together on the film; so there where 11 pictures left to choose - and the
one, whe printed, was amazing an nice... :-)

good luck
