Leica themselves I am quite sure make no bones about it being a "better" camera than the standard edition. It's just prettier for those that value such things. I paid $500 more to buy a Minox CLX 60th anniversary special edition than a standard and functionally identical TLX would have cost me. Why? *BECAUSE IT'S PRETTY* and because it is a special edition. I've taken a couple of rolls of pictures with it. It's heavier than the standard model (steel/brass casing with hand-engraved chrome finish rather than Titanol finished extruded aluminum), and otherwise identical. Just because a company makes a special edition doesn't mean that it's a signal of doom. Special Edition runs of all kinds of products are very saleable to those that value a little more pizzazz or are looking for a future collectible, etc. Godfrey
