I'm not nearly ready to give up my other focal lengths yet (especially in the wider direction), but I *have* found myself toting a 50mm more and more. Dunno if it's psychological -- spending more time among people I don't know *quite* well enough to get 35mm close to -- or the nearly perfect match of 0.85-mag M to 50mm influencing my choice. I do know that, once again (as with the M1911) I've found myself gravitating from things which seemed perhaps more modern and trendy to something which initially seemed bog-dull but whose essential rightness comes shining through with use.
