Well, it's certainly not arctic conditions I was working in, but Missouri can get quite cold, and my R8 held up much better than me - someone who has lived in Edmonton when it remained below 40 below (C and F) for six weeks! NiMH batteries have very good cold weather performance, even in battery-draining F5s! And in normal temperatures the R8 is amazingly conservative with batteries.
