LUGers,
You may recall my plea for help in finding a book, for which I had neither a
title, nor an author. Incredibly, I have found the author and title.
Amazon.com is shipping me a copy
Many thanks to all who volunteered suggestions. The details are below. The
details were provided off-LUG, but our own Ken Iisaka was also able to
further help.
The internet changes everything!
carpe lumen,
Alistair

ill.

Ken,
many thanks. Do you know if she was mentally ill (depression, bi-polar, etc)
or was it physical?
Also, do you mind if I post this to the LUG, to see if it jogs anybody
else's memory?
thanks again,
Alistair

I saw the photographs when they were put on exhibit in Tokyo a couple of
years ago. The exhibit took place at the Nikon Salon.

The photographer and Christine met in 1978 in Graz, Austria, and the
photographs are of Christine during the years they were together. Christine
apparently became ill in 1983, and committed suicide from their apartment in
East Berlin, leaving him and their 4 year old son. The photographer had not
recovered from the shock, and it was not until 11 years later that he
finally had the courage to make the prints from the negatives and even
exposed but unprocessed films.
His prints are extremely stark, with a knife-like quality. They grab your
attention and force you to look in her eyes.

Ken,
do you have the book, or know anywhere where I can get more info. I'm going
to buy the book, but am interested in more info.
best of light

Yes, it is a collection of snaps and portraits of Christine which were taken
during the 7 years since they met until committed suicide jumping off the
window of their apartment. Some of the portraits are intimate, while some
are quite funny.

Did anyone see this show (I think it was in 1998, don't know where), or know
