In the US, cents are not "legal tender", so the dealer could have
refused
to accept them and could have insisted on, at the least, 5-cent
pieces.<<<


Marc shows in his reply that he knows another interesting but
little-known fact--there has never been a "penny" minted in the United
States. The American coin is a cent; a penny is a British coin.
