For street use you go crazy chasing the LED's, and spontaneity is gone. Plus, you only need to learn a few settings for a specific film and then think about the light your subject is in<<< Brave man, and right on. I've now spent two stretches of time, one of 6 months and one of 12 months, shooting with no meter (and wrote an article about it for the English magazine _Darkroom User_ under the title "Train Your Brain...To Guess Exposures"). It's a peculiar thing, but sometimes it's easier to guess exposures than to meter them. And, fascinatingly, I found that the "red deltas" in the M6 are tyrants--they're very hard to ignore, EVEN IF you know exactly what you're doing and why you're departing for their advice! Right on, Alastair. - --Mike
