Herr Cohen would be foolish to go after the small piece of the pie with an old camera. Fewer and fewer people are buying MF SLRs these days. I mean, would GM reintroduce the X-cars today? No way!! The prime product for Leica is lenses. Many people will pay for Leica glass, few will pay for an old design MF SLR. They need to wake up and produce lenses for AF SLRS, perhaps even rebadge an AF body for use with their lenses. With Konica and now perhaps Nikon enetering the rangefinder market, they may well go the way of Zeiss Ikon. Peter K - -----Original Message----- From: B. D. Bottom line is the R8 is competing with the F3 - so (street) price it accordingly. I'm sure there are people would would love the idea of owning a Leica rather than an F3, but think that they can't even afford to look at a Leica... > -----Original Message----- > From: owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > [mailto:owner-leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us]On Behalf Of Thomas J. > Donovan > Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 1999 4:44 PM > To: INTERNET:leica-users@mejac.palo-alto.ca.us > Subject: [Leica] Viability of Leica; my 2 cents > > > Folks, > > I finally couldn't hold off any longer.
