The discoloration is not through the finder.. finder is clear.. just on the 
surface of the mirror.. if you angle it just so..

brown "water stains," particularly around the edges, when looking through the 
viewfinder. While this doesn't affect the camera functionally (focus is still 
accurate etc.) it is at least annoying, and can only get worse over time, 
leading to a gradual decline in viewfinder brightness.  Unfortunately, it is 
quite expensive to repair, definitely in the $250+ range. Replacing just the 
mirror would be substantially less.
