Even though I love Leica, there'd be no doubt in my mind: I would keep the G1 and lenses. That way you keep an all-round set of gear with a wide-angle and a portrait lens. In fact, if I had to cut back on my gear, what I would hold on to longest, would be 24-50-90. 24 is a good, universal wide-angle, 50 serves me for 3/4 people pics, and 90 for "portraits". I don't really need much more. Your 28 isn't far off from 24, so that's alright. Being stuck with just a 50 would be a disaster to me; it's my least used lens. Having just a 50mm might be a nice exercise, but I'm past my student's days. And I remember how much more interesting my photography became when I could add a short tele and a wide angle to my photo-bag. So hold on to that G1! I'll even go one further: my first camera was an Olympus SLR, and if I had the choice between that same Olympus with 28-50-90 or an R7 with 50, I'd take the Olympus. I can't put enough stress on this point: those three lenses will realize my photographic VISION, whereas the solitary 50 won't. Lens and camera quality is a secondary consideration. Bernard
