The magic number is "76": Those are common 1.5V button cells, generally
available in silver-oxide or alkaline. Both work okay, but I think I get
longer life out of silver and don't mind paying extra for them. But I
don't like paying a premium for Varta batteries, and in general, my luck
with this brand has not been very good. I use Mallory or Eveready,
sometimes Radio Shack too.  Generally, you can substitute a single
CR1/3N lithium cell for 2x of those 76 cells as well. Your R3 should
work great with any of the above.
