As the installer was hooking up my cable router, he said that they will be
offering phone service soon.  The phone switch is already installed in
their building, and I think they are just waiting for the approval to offer
it to consumers.  Not that long ago the regulators in Canada approved such
things, ending the phone company's monopoly.
