The Leica M is not suited to all situations. It happens that situations that are not suited to the M are often suited to the F5, and vice versa. There are even some situations that are best met with my Yashica T5, and others with the Nikon FG. If I had the money and space, I'd probably get some medium-format stuff, too, as there are situations where that would be handy as well. > It could be seen as pretty obnoxious having the Nikons > as the ultimate point of reference for our Leica's. Or vice versa. But I don't worry about things like that myself. > Do you ever leave them at home? Sure. > More plastic-elephant Nikons. The F5 I have contains little plastic. That's one reason why it weighs so much. > Why do you have your M6? Is it fulfilling a need? Yup. It does things the Nikon can't, and vice versa. > What are your Nikons not doing for you that your Leicas will? The F5 won't let me mount a Noctilux. It won't fit under my jacket. It attracts a lot of attention. It requires batteries to work. It requires me to sacrifice a tiny bit in resolution in many circumstances (although not all of these are important). Various things. -- Anthony
