When it rains you shoot pictures to show it rained. When it snows you shoot pictures to show it snows. Hail? Well, you get the idea. Car accidents in the rain? You bet. High school football in the rain, at night? -- every Friday night in October and November! And what would a cross-country track meet be without rain? Floods - -- oh man, remember the Great Flood of '93. I thought my cameras would never dry out -- just part of the gig. There are simple precautions you can make to protect your gear but basically, that's why you buy pro-quality gear. It stands up to the abuse much better than the cheap stuff. Leicas are supposed to be pro quality, aren't they? Besides, at least the M cameras don't have all the electronics that usually cause you the problems in the rain -- though now that I think about it, my old Nikon F cameras hated rain. The flash synch was always irratic when it rained. Anyway, rain? Get over it. Bob (rain happens) McEowen
