I've never had any problem with the CL's take-up spool, nor with its quality control, fit, and finish. Of course it's not as heavy-duty as an M6, but why should it be? Its whole purpose was to be smaller and lighter (and less expensive). Nor would I want automatic exposure capability (as in the CLE). For its purposes, the CL was nearly perfect. A CL with the Leica M6 TTL metering system, an improved film take up spool, and a bit more quality control, fit and finish would be an instant buy for me. Godfrey Well, Godfrey, a CL with M6 metering, an improved take-up spool, more quality control, fit, and finish would be an M6!
