The quality of Zeiss lenses is very high, with great contrast and high resolution. I was not as impressed with the color rendition however, which seemed a bit "thin" compared to the Leica lenses. I found the most dramatic difference in the rendition of blue sky. This is a matter of taste I suppose. In general the Contax line is a real value. The great thing about Zeiss is that you can get a top performer for a bargin price if large maximum aperture is not your top priority. I only wish the Cameras were as good as the lenses. I found them to be noisy and prone to break-down. Also the lens mounts are not as sturdy as Leica so you have to be more carefull when changing lenses.
