ROFL

My thesis was on the analysis of the spatial distribution of aged persons in
Long Beach, California. But just prior to the thesis, I had written a paper
on the lateral distribution of e.coli from arctic DEW sites in freeze and thaw
conditions over time. Both thesis and paper, I am sure, have had significant
impact upon our culture. I just know that if I actually get to the arctic
tundra, I
am not going to drink the snow nor water without boiling it first. Not
suitable for a
PhD dissertation because rather than piled deeper and higher it just spreads
laterally.

Regards, Bill Larsen

|I beg to disagree with your putting down the importance of grad
|school. My Ph.D. thesis was something like "Generalized Boundary
|Values in the Dirichlet Problem" (Rice U., 1966). By now I'm sure it
|is a favorite topic of conversation at the breakfast table all over
|America and perhaps the world. :-)
