I recall him saying how one day the top (glass) shelf in the display case which held his Leica equipment suddenly snapped, releasing a cascade of Ernst Leitz' finest onto the next glass shelf, which broke under the impact, releasing an even larger and heavier quantity of Leica equipment onto the next glass shelf, which in turn....
