The appearance of the M-6's are not limited to a "statistical sample of one"
since the standard M-6's have the same "unfinished" appearance.

As far as the craftsmanship the following from
the "Leica M Guide" the author states:
"Bucking this trend is the worthwhile but very expensive M6J. It's a M6
made to the higher standards of the M3, with a beautiful chrome finish and
engraved top. Besides its $9,000.00 price tag, perhaps its most noteworthy
feature is its finder. "

It is not just Mrs. Krauter who has noticed the difference between current
manufacture and the earlier workmanship that went into the M-3's and M-4's.

Thanks for the opportunity to respond.
