I for one was quite interested to read yesterday what a Leica User wrote about Land Rover Series vs newer Land Rovers. Having then just returned with my Series loaded to the brim with horse muck for my wife's garden, I sure did not agree with what he said about newer models being better. Not for that sort of a job. And if it breaks down, which seldom happens, it is job for the local blacksmith, with all its advantagaes and disadvantages. http://www.almqvist.net/landrover/ Can somebody please contribute something about Sturmey Archer three and five speed bicycle gears and Raleigh bicycles with locking front wheel? >> Dr. Blacktape Issues A Challenge: >> >> Would it be possible, for an entire week - from this coming Monday, August >> 9, to the following Monday, August 16 - for those posting LUG messages to >> limit the subject matter to PHOTOGRAPHY - i.e., taking photographs, the >> merits of various film, the USES of various cameras and lenses, and other >> pieces of equipment. >> >> Understand, this would mean no discussion who makes what, why some cameras >> have backs that open while others have removable bottoms, how to load >> cameras, what color tape to place or not place over red dots, whether one >> kind of camera is "better" than another, whether the design of a particular >> lens was stolen from the Druids or the Vikings, and whether used Leica >> equipment will or will not be less expensive the day following the Second >> Coming. >> >> Anyone up to the challenge? - -- christer almqvist eichenstrasse 57, d-20255 hamburg, fon +49-40-407111 fax +49-40-4908440 14 rue de la hauteur, f-50590 regnéville-sur-mer, fon+fax +33-233 45 35 58
