It is an acquired taste; I love mine, but then again I enjoy wandering around pubs and taking available light shots. But also some of my market pictures are taken with lens. It is quite special at f1. Difficult, many out-of-focus images due to subject movement, but when I get it right it really is quite unique. It is not the universal 50mm lens, so you have to take enough of the f1-f1.4 type photos to justify the high cost. There is no point in buying a Noctilux and shooting it at f5.6.
