The difference between RT-300 and the Singer/Telex/Kodak branded versions
of the same product is that Leitz put in theirs their own GLASS condensor
and dichroic mirror (IR goes through but visible light is reflected). No
heat filter but there is a coating on the condensor which may have
something to do with that as well!
The Leica literature at the time praised the design for absence of a
green cast so common in projectors using a heat filter.
The Ektagraphics of late have jumped on the bandwagon with the same design
(actually you can get the bright-light kit for the older III series for
$90 or so) I am not referring to Navitar kit , just the standard bright
light kit offered by Kodak.
