No heat filter but there is a coating on the condensor which may have something to do with that as well! The Leica literature at the time praised the design for absence of a green cast so common in projectors using a heat filter. The Ektagraphics of late have jumped on the bandwagon with the same design (actually you can get the bright-light kit for the older III series for $90 or so) I am not referring to Navitar kit , just the standard bright light kit offered by Kodak.
