You can only use a 39mm snap-on front cap on the Summicron-C if the
original rubber lens hood is not in place.  Otherwise you will need a
35.5mm snap-on front cap.

If you are prepared not to use the hood, you can always use a Leica 39mm
front cap for the current Summicron-M 50/2.0.  This is expensive,
however.
