Subject: [Leica] M2 with M4 lever?

Today, I saw a in a shop window a Leica M2 in very good condition, that
had the self-timer- and preview-lever of the more modern M4 style (with
plastic in it). Does anyone know if M2's were produced like this, or is it
a later modification? Serial number was not visible, due to leicameter.
