 The last version (1963-69)  (E39) "rigid" Elmar had a three element design.

Yes, sorry, I should have been more precise.  Leitz used the same code, 
11830, for *both* the 3 and 4 element rigid Elmars.  My Hove pocket book 
states that the collapsible is optically identical with the 11830 but doesn't 
make it clear which version.
