I don't know about this lens, but series filters sizes are defined by the
filter diameter being the series number squared, in millimeters. So series
7 filters are 49mm in diameter, series 8 are 64mm, and series 9 are 81mm.
Sounds like series 9 filters might drop in if there is something on the
hood to retain them.
