The bane of the EOS cameras is the fact you need the owners manual to figure out what the custom fuctions are and which one to set for MLU. I use MLU on my R8 all the time when shooting wildlife with 400mm and longer lenses. As a matter of fact, I just shot some pictures of lupines at the side of the road today using Velvia and the 19mm using MLU and a tripod. It was overcast and I was shooting F11 and 1/6 second with a tripod and MLU. The R8 makes MLU practical because it has a switch to activate it, rather than a long sequence of button pushes and dial turns like the EOS and other systems.
