No, no, no.  The German ones are already on the market.  I am looking at one
right now, purchased almost 2 months ago, stamped Made in Germany on the
barrel.

Apparently, Leica manufactured a small number of APO-ASPH Summicrons in
Canada before deciding to retool back in Germany.  These lenses made their
way to market, and account for the few that have been available, and also
their scarcity (none are in Canada, as far as he knows).  When retooling is
completed, regular production of the lens should commence.  I expect
initial shipments of the lens to accompany the R8 motor drive  ;-)
