Subject: [Leica] M3 Dual Stroke

I just received a dual stroke M3. It must be one of the later models, because it already has
the frame pre view lever. It also has a couple of other features, the single stroke models
don't have anymore. The pressure plate is made of glass, and the back plate clips in ,when
closing.
Does anybody know, why the pressure plate was replaced with a metal version? May be static was a
problem? Also why the clip in pressure plate was discontinued.
