It's not TV, but my favorite director is Ingman Bergman. Aside from the content of his films, I love his sense for photography (yes, also before he joined forces with Sven N.), and I find him to be the main influence on my own photography. I read an interview with Sven Nykvist where he said Tarkovski drove him out of his mind because the latter kept wanting to look through the camera...... the _cameraman's_ camera!
