You get your Canon EOS 2 and the 3 comes out 4 months later it's not a huge surprise because the 2 just replace the 1 all in a matter of months or a year. You are happy to have the latest thing but you know it's going to be for five minutes. In the world of electronics (computers, most cameras) by the time you drive it home from the store it's outmoded. Leica has been much more a story of refinement than obsolescence. The M6 has been around for 15 years? And could be around for another 15. The newer M6 should be called the M6 and not an M7 or an M6ttl or M6.2. It's still an old M4 with a meter instead of a self timer. My M6 doesn't feel outmoded to me and my next body I'm going to stay for mainly the sake of continuity and lack of need of TTL flash the M6 "classic" I already have. When the M7 is announced it will be because they have come up with something VERY INTERESTING. And that will involve more than "comfort." It will involve new approaches to old problems that other manufactures have not thought of or put into practice yet... a new modern classic: that will put our M6's a bit in the shade. Some will forsake the new modern classic staying with their M6 5 4 3 2 LSM. Other's will TRADE THEIR M6'S IN. To get the next new thing. For me to trade my M6 in; it will take some real innovative classicism on Leica's part. I'm just remembering what happened to Hasselblad after Victor died. All that Electronic no shutter BS. He'd be turning over in his grave. Herr Cohn isn't going to have the UNDEAD after him. Mark Rabiner pleasant dreams an M6 with some lighter weight space age materials: ceramics, graphite resin golf club parts. Real Titanium not just Titanium paint! Silly Putty! Flubber! Red Kryptonite! Nylon! I want a square format M6. I want a panaramic M6!
