Subject: Re: [Leica] Leitz Enlarger... What it is?

HALP!
Need some expertise in identifying a Leitz enlarger.
I'll try to describe it as best as I can-
1. It's black- the top of the lamphouse pops off and looks like a black
derby!
2. The head moves up and down on the vertical standard to adjust for size,
and focussing is with a screw or helical mount.
3. The negative carrier is a metal plate with guides, top and bottom- the
film being held in place with the bottom of the condenser which moves down
when a knob on the side pulled toward the operator
4. The laminated base has several deeply machined grooves at right angles-
possibly to hold an easel.
5. Has two curved metal plates- one for each side of the stage, apparently
to hold the negative strip up out of the way. Slight rust on the inner
curve- were they polished, painted, or was there an insert in them to
protect the film?

Looks like a fun item, and like all Leitz stuff, built like a Panzer! I now
have something for the Focotar I'm getting!
Thanks in advance for any help!
Dan
