BD several years ago when I first got glasses I was talking to a friend 
who worked at Nikon NPS Atlanta about ordering a dipoter for my F3 and 
8008.  She told me that all the nikon finders were shipped -1....so I 
should not need any kind of correction since my perscription was 
- -.5...maybe this is why a +1 diopter is really a +2.
