Larry,

I too wear glasses, but don't use them with the loupe (I am nearsighted).
Will check and let you know.

But the highest awards go to Leica 5x and Schneider 6x
aspheric.

But beware of the Schneider 6x aspheric if you wear eyeglasses and expect
to be able to see an entire 35 mm frame clearly. Because you can't. The
loupe is optically excellent -- terrific sharpness and contrast. But I want
to be able to see the complete 35 mm frame at once, and eyeglasses hold an
eye far enough away with this loupe that the sides of the frame are badly
blurred. I need to shift the loupe to be able to view an entire slide
clearly. I found such poor eye relief a major disappointment in such an
expensive and otherwise excellent loupe.

Peter, does the Maxwell 6x loupe you mentioned show the whole 35 mm frame,
even for someone wearing eyeglasses? If so, it may well be worth a look for
me.

And by the way, does anyone know if the Leica loupe is basically the same
as the Emo 5x Macromax (made in Wetzlar)? Same magnification and, but for
the Leica offering interchangeable skirts and a red dot, they sure look
like the same thing. Could Leica have taken over manufacture and/or
distribution of an extremely fine loupe (I have one of these as well)
manufactured in the next town, updating it a bit?
