Hi Robert,

This was a baseplate for the MD/MDa cameras intended for scientific use.  The 
small slot was for inserting hand written notes on a plastic strip (data 
strip) which would then be photographed onto the short side of the 24 X 36 
frame.  Very early form of data back (UR data back!).
