Peter,

No camera works as smoothly, delightfuly and sensuously as a Leica. No lens
system in the world is physically as perfectly well designed, manufactured
and assembled. Sorry for the fetichist side of this, but no other system is
as enticing to use. It makes anyone WANT to take pictures, because it is a
joy to operate, R or M. Most of the other systems lack that undefined
charm, except a few well known classics (no AF among them), and I never
touched an AF system that did have the 'soul' of a Leica. The ones I've
used are efficient picture taking factories. They are no fun. Then, on top
of that, knowing that he/she uses the 35mm system scoring the very best
imaging benchmarks, turns the lucky Leica user into a very happy
super(wo)man !

Using an AF gizmo in MF mode is a sensorial punishment !
