It means the focal length to the nearest tenth is 52.2 mm. Due to
manufacturing tolerances every lens' focal length can vary a bit from
the computed value. Erwin Puts posted an interesting description of how
Leica uses computers in the manufacture of their lenses to optimize the
end product.

I suppose this could be written up and put on the website.
