Hi Walter,

I heartily recommend the 24mm Elmarit. It is a wonderful lens in every
respect. Our own authority on lenses, Erwin Puts, writes in his review that
"no Leica M user should be without it" or something to this effect. For full

Also, some people will recommend not buying the 24mm finder, because it is
plastic, expensive and so on. I disagree; I too wear glasses and find the
finder indispensable. If you do without, then you in effect give up control
over the composition of your shot. The finder is not a total loss if you later
decide to switch to or add a 21mm lens, because if you ignore the framelines,
then it actually covers the 21mm field of view.
